Convert a PDF table to Excel

Copying a table out of a PDF usually gives you one long column of text, or numbers glued to the wrong rows. Page headers and footers get mixed into the data, and every amount arrives as text.

Drop the PDF here instead. The table is rebuilt from the position of each word, pages are joined into one table, repeated headers and page numbers are taken out, and dates and amounts become real values you can sort and sum.

How to do it

  1. 1Drop the PDF (up to 20 pages on the free plan; scanned pages are read with OCR).
  2. 2Check the table and the list of steps on the right — each one can be switched off.
  3. 3Download XLSX, or copy the table and paste it into Excel or Google Sheets.

Questions

Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. Pages without a text layer are read with OCR. If a scan is too blurry to read reliably, you’ll be told which pages, and on plans with AI pages you can have them read by AI instead.
What about tables that continue over several pages?
Pages with the same columns are joined into one table, and the header repeated at the top of each page is removed. Totals at the bottom are used to check the rows and kept out of the data.
Can I convert a PDF bank statement?
Yes. Statements are recognised as one table with dates, descriptions and amounts; descriptions that wrap onto a second line are joined back together, and the running balance is checked.
